Our outdoor play areas use a combination of mulch and pea gravel — specifically chosen to provide a soft, joint-friendly surface and help keep the environment clean. Pea gravel allows urine to drain while fecal matter stays visible for easy cleanup.
⚠️ For a few sensitive paws, pea gravel may cause mild irritation. If your dog is new or has tender pads, we recommend:

Cleaning paws with a damp cloth after daycare

Using paw wax or balm as a protective barrier

Applying a soothing ointment like Neosporin if needed
We’ve also added extra mulch in our large pens to reduce any risk of irritation. And if you ever have concerns, we’re just a message or call away.

Kim Brassor
In April 2025, the leash was passed to our new owner, Kim Brassor, a lifelong dog lover and proud mom to three Bernese Mountain Dogs. With over 30 years of business operations experience and a deep passion for canine care, Kim is committed to upholding the high standards set by our founder, Dawn. Kim resides in Oakville with her family and is excited to continue providing the loving care and fun-filled days that your dogs have come to know and love.

How to Enroll
We require all dogs to be up-to-date on vaccinations (Bordetella, DHPP, Rabies) and to be spayed/neutered if over eight months old. From May to November, we also require flea/tick prevention. To get started, please email your dog's vaccination records to furryfriendsdogcare@gmail.com. We'll schedule an assessment day to get to know your pup and ensure they're a good fit for our daycare.
